SERVINGS

INGREDIENTS

  1. 4 Breadtown Bakery Traditional 12-inch Hoagies (241140), sliced and lightly toasted
  2. 2 1/2 lbs. Flank steak, thinly sliced
  3. 2 Tbsp. Olive oil
  4. 1 1/2 Tsp. Kosher salt
  5. 1 Tsp. Black pepper
  6. 1 Tsp. Garlic powder
  7. 1/2 Tsp. Onion powder
  8. 2 cups Water, divided
  9. 1 (2-oz.) pkg. Au Jus Gravy Mix
  10. 8 slices Swiss cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Rub steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook, fl ipping occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Whisk together Au Jus Gravy Mix and remaining water together in a small bowl. Pour gravy mixture into boiling water, whisking constantly until completely smooth and thickened, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and add steak to gravy, stirring to coat.
  4. Divide steak evenly among hoagies. Top with 2 slices of cheese.
  5. Place sandwiches onto a parchment-lined sheet tray and broil on low until lightly toasted and cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes. Serve warm with remaining gravy.
