Garlic‑Chive Biscuit Nests

  • Ingredients:
  • Garlic Chive Butter:
    • 1 cup Butter, softened
    • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
    • 2 Tbsp. Chives, minced
    • 1 Tbsp. Garlic, powder 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat convection oven to 400°F. 
  2. Prepare 94013 Pioneer® Original Biscuit Mix using liquid of choice per package instructions. 
  3. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and pat down lightly. 
  4. Roll out to ½” thickness. Flour rolling pin and roll from the middle outward, using light pressure. 
  5. Cut with a 4” biscuit cutter. Do not twist the cutter. Do not use a glass or blunt edged cutter. 
  6. In the center of each biscuit, cut out a 2” biscuit using a 2” biscuit cutter.   
  7. Gently transfer dough pieces into a parchment lined baking sheet. Cover and freeze for at least an hour. 
  8. Meanwhile, prepare garlic chive butter by combining butter, parmesan cheese, chives, and garlic powder. 
  9. Par-cook bacon until just lightly browned, but not fully cooked or crisp. 
  10. Build egg-in-a-hole buttermilk biscuits by placing 2 strips of bacon in an “X” shape, 2 oz. cheddar cheese into 2” hole over the bacon, press down on cheese to create a well, and crack an egg in the well. 
  11. Bake for 13 – 17 minutes, turning halfway and until egg whites are just set. 
  12. Brush with garlic chive butter.
