Fried Chicken Sandwich with Hot Honey

INGREDIENTS

Chicken Sandwich: 

Hot Honey: 

  • 4 cups Honey 
  • ¼ cup Crushed red peppers 
  • ¼ cup Apple cider vinegar 
  • 1 tsp.  Salt 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Set fryer to 375°F.
  2. Prepare Pioneer® Pre-Dip Batter Mix per package instructions.
    Tip: Divide prepared Pioneer® Pre-Dip Batter Mix into separate pans to easily swap pans during service.
  3. Prepare hot honey by combining all hot honey ingredients in a saucepan. Gently warm to a simmer and cool down to room temperature for service. Keep covered.
  4. Assemble frying station with Pioneer® All Purpose Batter and Breading Mix and prepared Pioneer® Pre-Dip Batter Mix. 
  5. Dip chicken thighs in dry Pioneer® All Purpose Breading Mix, then prepared Pioneer® Pre-Dip Batter Mix, then back to Pioneer® All Purpose Breading Mix. Stir Pre-Dip Batter Mix occasionally to disperse seasonings. 
  6. Drop chicken into frying basket and fry for 12-20 minutes, depending on size, or until internal temperature reads 165°F. 
  7. Assemble chicken sandwiches with toasted 241136 Sliced 4″ Brioche Burger Buns, fried chicken, and hot honey.
