Customizable Pork Roast Gravy & Madeira Wine Sauces
A reduction of this classic fortified Portuguese wine to our Pork Roast Gravy creates the base for many delicious sauces for pork, beef, or chicken dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 bag 1 bag Pioneer® Pork Roast Gravy Mix (94551), prepared
- 750 ml Madeira wine, reduced by 90% (approx. 3 oz.)
Instructions
- Set aside and store ½ gallon gravyfor later use.
- Add reduced Madeira wine to remaining gravy.
Notes
Add a few more ingredients to your pork gravy and wine sauce to make even more flavorful options!
Madeira Green Peppercorn Sauce
Add ⅓ cup red currant jelly and 1 Tbsp. crushed green peppercorns.
Rosemary Peppercorn Sauce
Just add 1 Tbsp. fresh, chopped Rosemary to your Madeira Green Peppercorn Sauce.
Creamy Apple Sauce
Add ½ cup apple juice and ½ cup heavy cream to your Rosemary Peppercorn Sauce.
